SEO Tips: How to Fine Tune Your Blog for Better Web Traffic

Let’s face it, more and more blogs are getting recognition these days. It is not surprising as many people are now learning about the techniques used in SEO. Because of this, the competition is getting more intense. So how do you keep up with the trends? Can your blog surpass any other blog sites today?

It can be a bit alarming but then again, you can choose to be alarmed and do nothing or you can choose to do something about it. Taking care of a blog site is not as easy as it is especially when you have other things to do. But if you have known the basic SEO tactics in optimizing a website then you can also apply these to your blog. Keep in mind that posting blogs is not the only thing you need to do to keep your readers entertained and informed. You also need a new diversion if you want to keep your blog alive.

One of the first things that you can do to improve your blog is to select the right title for your blog posts. If you have keywords, use them as you create a title for your blog. Understand that the title of your post becomes the blog post’s access URL. This means that the keywords in your title will influence traffic on your site as well as on the search engines. When your blog gets indexed then it will show up among the results page and this will be very beneficial for you. So do make sure that the keywords you use are relevant to your content. This way you can get better traffic and a possible ranking among search engines.

Perhaps you have heard about webmasters telling you that keywords in URLs or in your domain names will not matter. If it does, it will have little or no effect. However, those who have been working on SEO for a long time and those who have experienced in search engine optimization will tell you that they do. But of course, don’t overdo your titles, this way it can be found easily.

Another way to fine tune your blog is by posting relevant topics. You can’t just post something that doesn’t have any information or purpose. This will devalue your post and at the same time your keywords and anchor texts will not be of use. So when you do create a post, make sure that you have optimized the whole post. Attach links to your anchor texts outside your blog. Make sure that these links are attached to another article of bigger blog sites or authority sites as what other people call them. This way it will look as if you have authority as well and people will not hesitate to read your post.

Don’t forget to put tags on your posts too as well as the categories. Adding backlinks are also important so always make use of those links and make sure that you direct people to your blog site. Remember to use them as much as possible as this can help get you the exposure you need. Keep your posts short too, a good content is about 300-400 words but you can go more than that. Just make sure that your article is something interesting to your readers otherwise they might just leave and get bored.

In closing, its not easy to run a blog especially if you have no topic to write. Trust me, I have the same dilemma at times but if you keep yourself updated, it won’t be that hard. Always know the basics of search engine optimization, consider it as the backbone of your blog site. The more you know about it, the better you get with blogging. Good luck!
